Biography

Dr. Alireza Nazemi is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, and elbow.

Dr. Nazemi was born and raised in Southern California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering at UCLA and was selected for the prestigious Exceptional Student’s Admission Program. Through this program, he stayed at UCLA and earned his master’s degree in Bioengineering while serving as a teaching assistant for multiple classes.

Dr. Nazemi earned his medical degree at Virginia Tech Carilion, where he was awarded an academic scholarship to attend. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, during which he received numerous patient safety awards.

Dr. Nazemi moved back to SoCal for a fellowship at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, where he received further training in arthroscopic minimally invasive surgery, sports medicine, and joint replacement.

Dr. Nazemi has served as the head team orthopedic physician for the professional Major League Rugby team Los Angeles Rugby Football Club, and assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Angels, Anaheim Ducks, and Loyola Marymount University.

Dr. Nazemi has authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and presented his patient-centered research at several national and international conferences. He is also a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA), and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES).

Outside of orthopedic surgery, Dr. Nazemi enjoys being active. He golfs, plays tennis and basketball, and catches waves at the beach.
